Pityriasis versicolor is a superficial mycosis, associated with the proliferation of the skin of a fungus that belongs to the commensal Malassezia yeasts.
This fungus is particularly fond of oily skin, sitting on the chest but also on the neck and shoulders, upper back and upper limbs, rarely on the lower limbs.
